The Mayor of Belgrade, Zoran Radojicic, said that he was strictly against any relaxation of the measures for the New Year holidays, December 31 and January 1 and 2, and that he hoped that the decision of the Crisis General Staff of the Government of Serbia was the same.

“My position is that there is no doubt that there will be no gatherings for New Year’s Eve. Only then will we continue the positive trend in the fight against the crown, and I think the Crisis Staff will decide as well,” Radojicic told B92.

Asked about how the “medical part” of the Crisis Staff was against the partial relaxation of the measures this weekend, Radojicic said that his position is specific, because as mayor he is a member of the Crisis Staff and is a doctor by profession.

“The life of the people is in the first place for me. It is true that we cannot have a health system if the economy does not work enough, but my position is always on the side of the doctors. I can’t think as an entrepreneur, the health of the Belgraders comes first. Therefore, I am closer to the position of the doctors in the Crisis Staff, ”said Radojicic, reports RTS.

He stated that in the last two days there were slightly fewer violations of anti-epidemiological measures.

“Our services have found fewer than 20 violations in the last two days at the catering facilities. But in general, considering that there are more than 2,000 restaurants and service-type facilities in the capital, the outlook is satisfactory, ”concluded Radojicic.
