Cajetina – Luka Crpuljarevic is only eighteen years old, but he is a host and, for example, a young man. Ten years ago he lost his father, he has a sister and a mother, and due to sad circumstances, he is the only male head of the household. He did not disappoint them, because this young man from Zlatibor is an excellent student of the Faculty of Economics, but also a hard worker who did not want the family home in the village of Semegnjevo to become a weed and just another in a series of abandoned homes in the Zlatibor area.

“I came to town with my dad, and then to my grandmother’s. When he was in his advanced years, I saw the sadness in his eyes because he couldn’t keep the house as it was while his father was alive. He was still little at that time , but I promised as soon as I got a little stronger that I would not let other people’s sheep graze on our meadows, and they did. At the time of the coronavirus epidemic, classes are mostly online, here I am equipped with everything I need and that is why I follow the classes, as I would work from a house located in Zlatibor, and the rest of the time I work on the property, “this young worker told RINA.

And if the road takes you to the mountain glades in the village of Semegnjevo, in the courtyard of Crepuljarević, nothing would indicate that this house is completely maintained by a high school student with almost all five in the diary. Luka has sheep, lambs, pigs, a greenhouse, a vegetable garden and more than two hectares of land that he mows and prepares hay for the cattle. Next to the shed are stacks of firewood that he provided and cut himself. He is the youngest resident of that part of town, helping the remaining locals whenever he gets the chance and thus making them smile.

“I milk my neighbor’s cow every morning because he can no longer do those village jobs due to his age, I cut wood for my older grandmothers when I need them, they knit me a sweater because I don’t want to charge them. I need because my father has a pension left, and I have a school scholarship because I am an excellent student, I also like to roll up my sleeves when necessary and thus earn some dinars. I am investing in a house in the country, I have changed the doors , the windows, I have enlarged the room a bit. I plan to build a barn. I wish that if my late father and grandmother could see me, they would be proud of me, “Luka said.

His greatest support is provided by his mother and sister, who did not oppose his willingness to invest their time and energy in working on the family farm. Initially, her mother prepared takeout food with her, but even then, Luka proved that he could do everything by himself.

“I like to eat, but I also like to prepare. I didn’t want to burden my mother with constantly cooking and packing my bags. I already learned how to cook, the homemade cake with hand rolled crusts is my specialty. But I also know how to make brandy, jam from our homemade plums, ”says this high school student with a smile.

He says his colleagues and friends have different views on the decision to work on a rural property, as they spend their time on social media and training.

“Life in Semegnjevo is my great teacher of life. Working in the field is my hobby and my sport, I am happier when I finish all my obligations and have tea in the garden,” said Luka.

However, in addition to work and life in the country, this young man also has big goals when it comes to education. The graduate is also enrolling her in the faculty this year and hopes to be able to harmonize all obligations regarding lectures and examinations with work in the field, because she does not allow the door of the house in Semegnjevo to be permanently. locked.

“In ten years, I see myself as a young college graduate, married with children. I am not a lone wolf here in the country and I want a healthy and happy family. We can also live in Zlatibor, if the jobs require it, but the Semegnjevo house must not be closed. I conveyed the glory of celebrating here, there is no greater grace in the heart when you light a celebratory candle under the images of your ancestors, “said the young Luka Crepuljarević, which is proof that modern technologies and the” challenges of tic tok “sometimes they lose the battle against tradition and old family values.
