Mali also said that the amount of around 400 million euros will be paid in the budget.

Mali told Tanjug that the necessary consent from the European Central Bank arrived a few days ago and was presented to the National Bank of Serbia.

By the way, some 60 million euros have already been paid to the State through dividends, and the payment of dividend arrears was one of the conditions for closing the Komercijalna Banka takeover bid.

“We await the consent of the NBS in the next few days, and there are some more documents to collect. I hope the transaction is closed by the end of the year and paid to budget,” Mali said.

It says that part of the money from that payment will be used to pay a 170 million euro debt with Azerbaijan.

He mentioned that the loan was taken in 2012 at an interest rate of four percent and the most expensive loan Serbia currently has.

The rest of the money, he adds, the state will try to save to, if necessary, help the economy also during 2021.

Of the already received 60 million euros or about seven billion dinars, 3.7 billion dinars refer to the contractual obligation to distribute half of last year’s earnings through a dividend.

The privatization of Komercijalna Banka is part of an agreement with the IMF that expires at the end of the year.

In addition to the 387 million euros, Serbia will earn a total of about 460 million euros from 83.2 percent of the state-owned shares at the end of the acquisition.
