Zoran Marjanović (41) was invisible to base stations for 25 minutes at the time of the murder of Jelena Marjanović (33) on the Borča embankment, and when it turned on, he called her number five times.

This was stated today in the trial by Dragomir Vasiljevic, a judicial expert in telecommunications, who stated that Zoran deliberately turned off his mobile phone, so that his movements cannot be reconstructed during that time. He believes that Zoran and Jelena’s meeting was inevitable around 5pm.
– Arrived at the beginning of the embankment at 4:38 p.m. and switched off the phone, making it invisible to base stations. If it were included, there would be 100 records. Jelena was last checked into the embankment at 4:56 pm In my opinion, her descent from the embankment was at 4:57 pm, and Zoran’s phone was switched on at 5:47 pm where she was at at 4:56 pm. He did it knowingly – said the judicial expert, who, based on the data from the base stations and the recordings of the security cameras, was tasked with determining where Zoran was at the time of the murder.

Vasiljevic pointed out that Zoran and Jelena’s meeting at the embankment had to take place around 5 p.m., as if the distance from the stadium to the place where Jelena was found dead could be covered in 12 to 20 minutes.
– Considering the visibility on the embankment and the sunny weather on that day, the meeting had to take place. Zoran called Jelena five times after turning on the phone: at 17.04, 17.05, 17.09, 17.11, and 17.13, from the event area.

The fifth call sent to Jelena was from the same base station from which she joined, in the same area. He made the following call with his brother Miloš – said the expert and noted “that he was in the forest of data”.
– It is impossible to position in meters because the Zemun and Borča base stations are mixed in that area, so I had to ask the operator for help – said Vasiljević.
Ran to the courtroom
Zoran came alone today, literally a minute before the trial. He did not remove the mask from his face and immediately rushed to the courtroom. He listened carefully to Vasiljevic and did not move from the dock.
When asked by a defense attorney if he might be afraid of someone, Vasiljevic said:
– No. I worked hard and I want to leave here with a clear conscience.
The trial continues tomorrow, when the lawyers can ask questions directly to the expert.
