Zelenović wrote on Twitter that the police did not respond to calls this time.

“A group of criminals led by Aleksandar Pajić broke into the session of the City Election Commission (GIK) tonight and interrupted it. They broke in just before the end of the session. The women members of the electoral commission left the premises, while that the male part was not allowed to leave the building, “Zelenović told Nova.rs.

GIK Sabac President Budimir Pavlović told H1 that SNS activists and leaders physically blocked the Commission members in the building where they were sitting.

Like Zelenović, Pavlović emphasized that the police were informed of everything, but there was no reaction.

As H1 found out, around a hundred SNS activists gathered in front of the building.

“We had a committee tonight, where we were supposed to decide on some objections because the elections in five polling stations have not ended. We set a deadline tomorrow until 3pm to make decisions, but when they found out, the SNS members at GIK they decided to go on a hunger strike, “Vera Palinkaš, a member of the GIK in Šabac, told nova.rs, adding that the fact was recorded in the minutes, and then the commission members tried to leave the building.

Chief of the Sabac Police Department: It is not true that the police did not react

“Nebojsa Zelenovic’s claims that the police did not react tonight after the report of the members of the Sabac Municipal Election Commission are absolutely incorrect. It is true that immediately after the report of the president of the Sabac Election Commission, Budimir Pavlović , that several people gathered in front of the municipal building that do not allow GIK members to leave the municipal building, the police rushed to the scene, “said Zoran Jevđenić, head of the police administration in Šabac. .

According to him, the police patrol determined that there was a group of people about 20 meters from the municipal building who said they had come “to protect the electoral will of the citizens.”

“On that occasion, there was no violation of public order and peace, and no one blocked the entrances to the Sabac municipality building, where the City’s Electoral Commission is located,” said Jevdjenic.

He also claimed that the police acted on the basis of Budimir Pavlović’s report that there were people on the first floor of the municipal building preventing the work of the GIK.

“Upon entering the municipal building, it was also determined that there was no disturbance of public order and peace, nor did anyone present in the building complain that it was in danger of extinction,” Jevđenić said.

The mayor called on Zelenović and everyone else not to abuse the police for political purposes and mislead citizens.

“No illegal actions were determined when members of the police came to the scene and the Šabac Prosecutor General’s Office was informed of everything,” Jevđenić said.
