Young people come to parties in the most unusual ways.

Restricting the working hours of cafes and banning gatherings not only “challenged” young people to think of ways to organize secret parties, but also the city’s serious caterers, who manage to find a way to serve and win money at night. And there are, not only on the outskirts of the capital and in smaller cities, but also in the heart of Belgrade.

And everything works just like in the movies: very organized, precisely guided and at the end extremely careful. It must be said that some of the honest people adhere to the prescribed measures, but also that “there are weeds in every grain”.

– First, through reliable people, you should ask which cafes are open at night. The second step is to recommend you to the owner or manager of the facility, who must be sure that you are a trusted person, who cannot put your “business” in jeopardy. Then you get to the trusted guest list, but that’s not the end of the rules. One of the basic ones is the prohibition of parking in front of the cafeteria. It is mandatory that when you arrive you call a certain phone number and finally say the code that has been agreed in advance “, tells us a woman from Belgrade who recently went out to a small cafe in the capital where, as she says, five, like maximum seven people sit at each table.

As he adds, the rules don’t end there either. There is also a list of what guests must adhere to when entering the cafe, such as the prohibition of the use of phones, cameras and photographs, and what they receive warnings from time to time during the night.

– More and more, they call it the concept of Speak Easy. These are cocktail bars that deliberately mimic the concept of bars in New York during Prohibition. They are legal, they just do not have a mark on purpose, they are located in hidden places in the center of Belgrade, they receive a small number of people, often in basements, common courtyards, as if they are closed, and you cannot see a finger in front of the eyes from the smoke, one of the beverage vendors tells us.

The flip side of the story is the parties that have just moved from catering facilities to private homes or apartments. This, although against all measures, appeals and recommendations, gave the owners of tourist accommodation the opportunity to earn money by renting spaces, usually cabins and houses on the outskirts of cities. There are strict rules here too, and it is interesting that the music is generally online.

– Knowledge is key here too, and it’s the ticket to the party. The party is mainly organized when one of the famous DJs has a performance online. And such stories are most often found on the outskirts of the city, they are in houses in Kosmaj, but also in Grocka and places that are not far from the capital. And the guests are usually teenagers who drink and scream, our fellow citizen Anica tells us.

It is increasingly common to rent basements of large houses for parties, as well as garages with good square meters. And it doesn’t have to be parties, but quieter seats where about twenty people gather.

– Either there is no music or it is quite loud, so it is very difficult to suspect that there is a great happy company behind the door – says a Danijela.

– They are planning for their daughter to come of age for one year. They also agreed on the arrival of a famous musician earlier in the year. Now that the situation is as it is, they have changed the scene. The young people, about thirty of them, go to a weekend house where music will be played, and the older ones, godparents and relatives of about twenty of them, to a larger hall of a famous restaurant on the outskirts of Belgrade, which They say that it will be respected – Daniela tells us.
