Young leaders in Stara Planina: “Now they have more courage and ideas”

A Young Leaders Summit was held in Stara Planina, organized by the Belgrade Center for Education and Youth Development with the support of the Ministry of Education and SKONUS.

Representatives of student parliaments and relevant ministries discussed the prospects for education and ways to improve student standards.

The students, mostly in their later years, were interested in what awaits them when they finish their education and if they will be able to find a suitable job and improve their knowledge and skills.

“We believe that the dual education law would help the student not wait for the last year of studies, but rather know what their job will be from the moment they enroll in the faculty,” says Margareta Smiljanić, vice president of SKONUS.

Staff visibility has been greatly facilitated by the introduction of an information system in education, reports RTS.

That way, employers will find the people they need much easier. Leadership skills are desirable in any business.

It is precisely these young leaders who are here and whom we must guide, both in the energy sector with which I deal, and in others, be it computer science, medicine or any branch of the economy, we must once and for all in certain So we’re slowly starting to invest in them, ”says Stefan Milić, President of the Belgrade Center for Youth Education.

The youth and sports line ministries were actively involved in the debate on youth leaders.

“Now they have more courage, more ideas, more people could finance various projects, especially these hubs, especially the IT sector and everything we talk about, but leaders are lacking, real managers are lacking,” said the Minister of Education, Science and Development technological Mladen Šarčević.

Practicing professional work and gaining skills during your studies would go a long way towards the ability to integrate students into work faster after college, and even to take leadership positions.

Minister Šarčević spoke about expanding the capacity of faculties and student residences, as well as the cooperation of the private sector with higher education institutions and the guidance of students in the development of their professional careers.

Professor Emeritus Dr. also expressed his views on the issues mentioned. Slobodan Ćamilović, Director of the Human Resources Management Service of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr. Danilo Roncevic, Acting Director of the Development Agency of Serbia Rados Gazdic, advisor to the Minister of Higher Education prof. Dr. Tatjana Cvetkovski, doc. Dr. Srećko Bačevac.

The students also spoke with the director of the Belgrade Student Center, Mr. Goran Minić, the deputy director of the Belgrade Student Center, Mr. Dejan Joković, and the chair of the working group for the drafting of the Student Organization Law, Mr. Milan Savić.

Young people had the opportunity to discuss improving the standard student system in these institutions, as well as increasing capacity.

The seminar participants were student representatives from relevant student organizations, student parliaments and student residences in Belgrade.

The summit was organized according to all epidemiological measures.
