You cannot enter the EU without special approvals, and our citizens HAVE TWO OPPORTUNITIES upon returning

Epidemiologist Predrag Kon explained the procedure for entering and leaving Serbia. He said that “when we travel, it will depend on the country we are traveling to, and that for now it is not possible to travel to the EU without special approvals.”

– As for the others, it depends on the possibility of traffic. If they request a test, they will be able to do it in Serbia, and there will be certain laboratories in Serbia and prices from the authorities. There will be no free trials, which is not to be expected in this situation, Kon said.

As he said, foreign citizens who enter must have the approval of the government commission, which they receive at the embassy or consulate, and must have with them a test, which is no more than 72 hours old, a PCR test confirming that they are negative.

– When they come to Serbia, Serbian citizens can take a test that is no longer than 72 hours, and the other possibility is to enter self-isolation for 14 days. They can always be tested and paid for, and that will not have an impact on self-isolation, the only way to avoid it is to have proof on entry, Kon said for H1.

As for the price of the test itself, Kon says 6,000 dinars were mentioned in the Crisis Team, but additional work is being done.

– How much the service itself costs, is expected to increase by that amount. The price will be formed by the authorities, and also depends on the laboratories themselves, which have their own price lists. There are 12 labs where PCR can be performed, the question is whether everything will be reported. All the private people who want to work, we do not have private laboratories with such potential, if they appeared, they would have to pass validation and request and register in order to do so, Kon says.

On June 1, Serbia will fully open its borders to the flow of people from four neighboring countries: Northern Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.

Speaking of going abroad on vacation, Kon says he feels the most secure in Serbia.

“Countries generally have a PCR test, but it’s difficult to say how it will return if it goes anywhere,” he said.
