The trial for the murder of Stefan Filić (18) from Velika Plana continued yesterday before the Smederevo High Court upon seeing images from the security cameras of the “Shipwreck” club where the crime took place.
Yesterday’s hearing was held exactly one year after the teenager died in hospital from his injuries, when, according to the indictment, he was beaten to death by Nikola Bojović (20) and Mitar Pandurević (20) of Velika Plana.
According to Stefan’s aunt, Javorka Markovic, the trial was emotional and difficult for his family, especially as they saw the recordings of their son’s beating for the first time.
– His mother did not have the strength to look and left the trial, and we prepared ourselves mentally. The video clearly shows, and has been confirmed before, that Nikola Bojović hit Stefan’s younger brother twice. Stefan approached him, it was obvious that he had his hands in his pockets and calmly, with his hands down, he went to him … – says Stefan’s aunt.
According to her, the recording was stopped there, because there was an ambiguity that the court wanted to resolve.
– There was a greater distance and an additional expertise was ordered that will increase the participants in the fight. Before that, the witnesses who were absent from this hearing must appear and must say who was where at the time of the fight – explains our interlocutor.
Additionally, video was seen of the store near the crime scene.
– The video clearly shows Bojović and Pandurević leaving the crime scene at a slightly faster pace, but as if they were coming back from a drink. This shows their reckless behavior, they left Stefan on the street to die – emphasizes his aunt.
At the hearing, he adds, a psychologist and a psychiatrist were questioned, who examined the defendants Bojović and Pandurević, and pointed out that the young people had knowledge of the acts they were committing: sane.
– It was determined that they were aware of the facts – Bojović knew exactly where who and where was, he was aware even though they were in an alcoholic state. The blood test showed that Bojović had 1.7 per thousand, and Pandurević 1.35, indicating that they were in a state of relaxation, said the aunt of the murdered teenager.
The next hearing is scheduled for February 26, when the young men who attended the fight will be questioned.
As reported by “Blic”, Stefan Filić was attacked on 2 February by young men two years older than the club “Shipwreck”. Previously, they took aim at his younger brother, and when Stefan came to his defense trying to defuse the situation, instead of giving up, the attackers took aim at him. He fell to the ground and they continued to hit and kick him. The perpetrators fled and bystanders called the police and the ambulance, which took Stefan to the “Stefan Visoki” hospital in Smederevska Palanka with serious injuries, but due to the severity of the injuries, he had to be transferred to Belgrade immediately. .
The unfortunate Stefan, a graduate of the Velika Plana Faculty of Economics, later died as a result of injuries on his hospital bed.
After their arrest, Nikola and Mitar were questioned at the Velika Plana Basic Prosecutor’s Office, but at that time it was suspected that they had caused serious bodily injury. However, after the death of Stefan Filić, for whom the brain haemorrhage was fatal, as the autopsy findings showed, all the circumstances of the event were considered, so the case passed to the jurisdiction of the Smederevo High Prosecutor , which accuses the detainee of aggravated homicide, threatened with a penalty of at least ten years in prison or life imprisonment.
A walk through Stefan
According to the murdered teenager’s aunt, on February 2, on the anniversary of the brutal beating, they visited the crime scene.
– It was a leisurely walk, from the summer classroom at the school where Stefan went to the scene of the murder. There was a great response from the people ”, he adds.
