Most of the “Belgrade” Palace, the popular “Belgrade woman”, was sold today for 16.5 million euros, which was the starting price at the second public auction.
An offer reached the public invitation for sale, and the new owner is the company MPP New project doo, which agreed to buy the Palace “Belgrade” for the initial price, which was confirmed by the City Administration.
This company was also the only interested party to appear in the public tender. As can be found in official documents, the MPP New project company was founded on August 26 this year, its headquarters are in the Old Town, and Milana Srećkov is the legal representative and director.
However, behind the new company is Marera Properties, which is located at the same address, and which deals with office rental, and has become famous for renovating several well-known buildings throughout Belgrade: the “Beko” factory in Dorcol , but also buildings at Makedonska 44, Bulevar kralja Aleksandra 79, Resavska 31 …
– Within the public bidding procedure carried out by the City of Belgrade, the subsidiary of the company Marera Propiedades made the best offer and is now in the process of formalizing a sale contract. The acquisition refers to the office space in the “Beograđanke” tower and does not include the commercial facility that is located next to the tower – Marera properties announced.
Let us remind you, on the last day of July, the first bid failed because no one responded. On that occasion, a part of “Beogradjanka” of more than 19,000 square meters was offered at a price of 20.6 million euros.
In the second tender, “Beograđanka” was offered at a significantly lower price of 16.5 million euros, but with the obligation that the buyer invest at least eight million euros in the next three years.
The skyscraper is 101 meters high and 23 stories high.
“Beograđanka” was built in 1974 during the mandate of Mayor Branko Pešić, and according to the project of his namesake and surname, the architect Branko Pešić, it is under prior protection so that a new buyer would not demolish it, but rather rebuild it.
It is 101 meters high, 23 floors, and after four and a half decades, the “Belgrade” Palace is one of the most recognizable buildings, but also the tallest in the capital, next to the Genex Tower and Usce.
