WILL KORONA INCREASE THE PRICE OF USED CARS? Vehicles flooded car parks, customers have a great choice

[ad_1]

Following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the import of used cars fell, and experts in the used car market in Serbia warn that the autumn wave of the corona could bring a rise in the prices of used cars . A large number of cars are bought through specialized self-sites, that is to say, of individuals, and partly of plots for cars.

According to data from the Office of Statistics of the Republic, 30 percent less used cars were imported in the first half of this year than in the same period of 2019, so our car parks are quite empty. The situation is similar in the European market, where the prices of used cars have already increased.

No money for new

In Europe, the demand for used cars is now higher than the supply, because many Europeans, due to financial cuts, prefer used cars to new ones. Also, many of those who used to primarily use public transportation now, due to fear of spreading the infection, are deciding to buy an older used car.

Miloš Petrović, President of the Serbian Association of Importers of Cars and New Parts, confirms this for the Courier Consumer.

– Second-hand cars have become more expensive in the European market due to the pandemic. That increase ranges from 1,500 to 2,000 euros, depending on the model, Petrovic told Kurir.

Demand is not waning

He expects the price increase to spread to the Serbian market, although, as he adds, the prices of used cars in our country have not changed significantly compared to the pre-crown period, although they were expected to fall.

By the way, in March and April the sale of used cars almost stopped, but after the lifting of the state of emergency, it returned to the level before the epidemic.

– During May and June, the demand returned to the level of last year. Prices in our country have not changed significantly so far, but the price of used cars has increased in the European market, so we expect that to happen in our country as well, said Branislav Grković, manager of a site specializing in the sale of used cars, to Kurir Consumer.
