“The problem of this crucified country is not Aleksandar Vučić, but the frustrations of those who wanted to shape this country in their own way,” Bishop Sergije said in his statement.

Due to the constant attacks on the President of Serbia, the Diocese of Bihać-Petrovac reacted, noting that the crucifixion was Aleksandar Vučić, the resurrection of the Serbian people.

Bishop Sergio’s statement is transmitted in its entirety:

“If I lived in Belgrade or somewhere in the interior of Serbia, maybe I would think of President Vučić in a slightly different way, maybe, like many, I would be guided more by personal and less national interests. But, as I am a monk and Bishop who lives and sits in the Rmnju monastery, on the desolate and cruel border of Bosnia and Lika, my vision of life, coexistence, opportunities and problems, is conditioned by only one thing: the desire to survive spiritually and biologically to this my little and weak flock of Christ, who was given to me for his care and care. For three decades we have been concerned about disappearing, having ourselves, staying where we have always been. To fulfill these humble desires, we have always lacked help, the fraternal hand and understanding. That is why we bleed more after the war than in the war itself. War, because nobody wanted to see the wounds of the war. The international community was not interested in helping us, and the R Republic Srpska was not strong enough to support us more strongly. And when, without much hope and looking in the same direction, in a zero head hour of the homeland of Serbia, President Vučić looked at us. And not only did he look, but he also helped, and he visited us twice, like no other president of Serbia until then. We were and continue to be infinitely grateful to him for that, because the people of Krajina remember even when they seem to have forgotten everything. To tell the truth, it should be remembered that Serbia has invested money in all the municipalities and cities of the Republika Srpska, but also in four municipalities with a Serb majority in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, therefore, thanks to that same Serbia and its president , we have kindergartens as an expression of lasting love. hospitals, roads, temples … However, to challenge, belittle and present everything different from what it is, poison arrows are fired every day in the form of newspaper articles and interviews with our convinced pastors, who fear their imperialist aspirations of the Greater Serbia, seeded by them in their ill-intentioned minds, are trying to displace into everyday life the local Bosnians and Croats, whom, I am convinced, President Vučić wishes the same as we Serbs: peace, progress and good relations, without fear of each other. The one who was furiously attacked in Srebrenica is attacked, the one who helped that same Srebrenica tries to discredit, like no one before, and all with the human desire to heal the wounds of war with mutual trust, to connect local peoples with the roads modern, of all together, it will be better here, that everyone has a job, that no one goes to the white world just to look for work and lose everything they have only in the country where they were born – relatives, friends, memories, happiness … When It was seen that it is increasingly difficult to scare the other and different with the greater Serbian nationalism, because that matrix has been worn out for a long time, then a not so new idea came to blame the Russians for everything, so that others would fear them and, of course, Vučić as its exponent. . In vain! Just look at who banks, shopping malls, where the workforce goes and everything will be clear to everyone. Someone is obviously tired of peace and progress, so now, overwhelmed by the results of the US presidential election, he would “undo Dayton”, reopen old wounds and end the little hope that Serbs, Croats and local Bosnians, eager for peace and trusting, eager for their children from Germany, grandchildren from Ireland, friends from America. Bosnia and Herzegovina, where I live, where I serve and where I will leave my bones, has comparative advantages: Croatia helps the Croats, Serbia the Serbs, the Bosnian Islamic world. If our minds and hearts are not tight, there is room in this country for everyone and everyone. The problem with this crucified country is not Aleksandar Vučić, but the frustrations of those who wanted to shape this country in their own way, and in that idea of political adaptation there would be enough Serbs here to decoratively decorate a religious and national monolith conceived in one of the dark centers of power. I know that President Vučić would not allow that, just like President Dodik, like any other honest Serb who cares about leaving something behind in this beautiful and terrible country, which is not and will not be the prey of anyone, but a space where life it will. to overcome death, in which there will be more new cribs than work visas, in which the neighbor will trust his neighbor as a born brother. As long as Aleksandar Vučić is crucified, I know that we are doing well, that we are doing well, that we are where we are. When you shut up, I know it’s not right, that we’re disappearing and that we won’t be there. The crucifixion of Vučić is our resurrection“, it is written in the official announcement of the Diocese of Bihać-Petrovac.
