“Now it is up to the EU to show that this is not the case and that it can provide something that was agreed seven years ago,” Đurić said as a guest on Prva TV.

Noting that Belgrade representatives were informed that some EU representatives have coronavirus on their team, Đurić said he hoped they would recover soon and that the Serbian side would be ready to continue the dialogue at any time.

“Apparently, this is a technical reason in the European External Action Service. I hope that everyone is well and that everything is fine. The Serbian side is always ready to speak, one gets the impression that there are problems in the dialogue, the from Pristina says they don’t want to talk, “said Đurić.

He said that if the EU does not reason with the Pristina representatives and bring them back to the table to discuss the JCC, then it cannot expect the talks to be productive and have results.

He said that while the Belgrade representatives always come ready for negotiations in Brussels, the Pristina side comes so that they have no role in front of them.

Đurić pointed out that representatives from Belgrade always carry theirs to the end.

“I am quite persistent … We have a very clear mandate from President (Aleksandar) Vučić and the government. We insist on what belongs to the Serbs. We do not allow the Serbian side to be disparaged,” Đurić said.

He recalled that the agreement on ZSO was reached seven and a half years ago and that it must be implemented.

He said that it could not be said that Serbia would make concessions to anyone or that the JCC would be part of a global agreement.

“Forget those stories, ZSO was reached as a separate agreement seven years ago. We can only talk about how you can get rich,” Đurić said.

“And if I did …”

When asked if he is Serbia’s new ambassador to the United States, Marko Đurić says that it is unprofessional to comment on something like this before it is formalized.

“Even if it did, it would be unprofessional to comment on something before it is formalized,” Đurić said, adding that there is a complex procedure that the nominee goes through, among other things, consultations with the host country are done first.

“Whatever happens, I am next to everything. I am ready to serve Serbia,” Đurić said.
