With the disintegration of the Alliance for Serbia and the decision of the parties and movements that made it, that in the future they will dedicate themselves to raising their own capacities, it seems that part of the so-called opposition boycott lowered the level of joint action.
There is strong unity around the request for dialogue on electoral conditions with representatives of the authorities with the mediation of the European Parliament.
The rest of the opposition (New Party, Movement of Free Citizens, Social Democratic Party, Democratic Party of Serbia, Green Party, Movement “One of the Five Million”, Initiative Do not Drowning Belgrade, Heart of the City Movement and Guardians of the Old City ) does not expect mediators and insists on the objectivity of public works. service and requested a conversation with the RTS director.
Dveri also believes that mediators are not needed and that talks can begin immediately, whose representatives do not go to meetings or boycotts or other oppositions.
Given that the dialogue with the mediators will not begin until next year, perhaps even in spring, the question is what the opposition parties will do while they await negotiations and in what way will they actively pressure the government.
Miroslav Aleksić, vice president of the People’s Party, points out that the party is absolutely committed to building the party’s infrastructure in all places.
– We will visit cities, talk to people and form committees. At the same time, we will fight in dialogue to reach the conditions for the holding of fair elections and, as before, to harshly attack the current regime for all that it is doing wrong to Serbia and its citizens. We will present to the public all our knowledge on corruption and theft of the state by state officials and the SNS, as we did in the case of Telecom, Krusik, Jovanjica – says Aleksić.
Dragan Djilas, SAA president, announces even more energetic work in the coming months, summarizing what has been done in the last 30 days.
He cites a plan for a better life that speaks precisely of how citizens can have a good life with concrete measures, exposing a series of abuses in the largest state companies that cost citizens hundreds of millions of euros.
– We force the government to start the desulfurization process in Kostolac, which is why thousands and thousands of people get sick every year. We have shown that Serbia’s debt will exceed 50 billion euros in a few years. Party officials visited Kursumlija, Trgovište, Vranje, Ruma, Valjevo, Šid, Smederevo, Kragujevac, Knić, Jagodina … playgrounds and sports activities organized for the little ones. In addition, we worked intensively with partners in the European Parliament in organizing a dialogue on electoral conditions and proposed precise requirements that must be met in order to reach a fair election, says Djilas for Danas.
For our document, the president of DS, Zoran Lutovac, emphasizes the joint work to determine the requirements, mechanisms and procedures related to the basic conditions for free and fair elections.
– At the same time, we continue with personnel, organizational and program reforms in the DS. We mobilize activists, we refresh committees, we speak with citizens. We give the party back to members, voters, citizens. We earn your trust by demonstrating our commitment to the public good. We show with our own example how politics and politicians should be. We are opening up space for new competent people dedicated to the public good, but also for all those who have been unjustly repressed so far. We stand in solidarity with the oppressed. We bring together people who have the capacity, knowledge and moral credibility to respond to all the challenges we face – says Lutovac.
On behalf of UOPS, Janko Veselinović tells our newspaper that the organization is preparing for the elections, but also about the possibility that the regime is not willing to accept that the next elections are free and fair.
– We will have joint actions, like last weekend, against RTS, but also joint actions outside Belgrade, such as actions in Novi Sad against the attempt to build Novi Sad on water, but also individual actions aimed at liberating the citizens of fear in the future. . We are limited by the ban on meetings. We planned a demonstration in front of RTS, but due to the ban on meetings, we held a forum on Facebook. We will not be irresponsible and in these conditions we will take to the streets in an emergency, when the illegal government challenges us by abusing the pandemic or by legitimate defense when an individual or citizens as a whole are attacked – concludes Veselinović.
Veselinović: Sloga is not interested in daily politics
Syndicate Sloga President Zeljko Veselinovic told Danas that they are currently not interested in daily politics.
“We deal exclusively with the problems of the workers and the expansion of the organization in the field. We are waiting for the reactions of the EP, to decide what to do next, because in such conditions, dealing with politics makes no sense,” he says. Veselinović.
