The commander of the kovid military hospital in Karaburma, Dr. Ivo Udovicic, says that he did not expect new measures due to the increase in the number of patients with the corona virus, because, as he said, these existing ones are not respected either.

Udovicic said that patients in general do not know where they were infected, which shows that the virus infection is very high and that he is more concerned about the number of patients in intensive care, of which there are 11 in that institution.

“Failure to comply with the prescribed measures and the outbreak of the epidemic is not only a problem for covid patients, that is to say, of infection, but also for people who have been waiting for treatment for months,” Udovicic emphasized, adding that 95% of the MMA personnel are in the Karaburma military hospital.

In the Belgrade RTS program, Udovicic emphasized that he was concerned about the lack of specialized health personnel in the care of these patients.

He also stressed that failure to comply with the measures endangers patients who are awaiting surgery, as well as hematologists.

He added that the State must find mechanisms to forcefully implement the prescribed measures.

Udovicic said there are enough doctors employed to cover the lower hospital, where there are 80 patients, 11 of whom are in the intensive care unit.

“We had two deaths in this period, we transported one to Turkey because he is a Turkish citizen, but we are still full, the next patient immediately takes his place,” Udovicic said.

He noted that he, like all employees of the Karaburma military hospital, is concerned about the increase in the number of patients and the dramatic number of deaths in the region.

“The number of deaths is very worrying and the number of patients requiring intensive care has increased in our country,” said Udovicic.

He added that the Karaburma military hospital has sufficient respirators and equipment, but noted that all patients are in a very serious condition “and at the door of intensive care.”

Udovicic says that the largest number of citizens applying the measures are protected from seasonal flu, noting that Serbia is not in great danger from flu.

As he said, the coronavirus has adapted very well to the human body “and has reached an agreement with us.”

Udovicic said our immune systems failed to get strong enough and said it wouldn’t happen until the vaccine came.
