WHAT HAPPENS IN THE THIRD CROWN WAVE? Never again infected, and hospitals almost empty, experts have an EXPLANATION

Serbia has registered a record number of new infected with the corona virus, up to 579 people are positive. However, this mega impact is hardly visible at all in other parameters of the epidemic in our country.

That is, according to the latest data on hospital treatment, we currently have 515 patients, while during the first wave we reached the figure of 3,900 at one point, and this summer during the second even a record of 4,858 registered on July 15. On that day, however, “only” 351 recently infected people were registered in Serbia, significantly fewer than the day before yesterday.

Also, now that we have a record number of newly infected, “only” 24 patients are on respirators, while from July 7 to August 10, there were always more than a hundred, and the record was reached on July 22, up to 205 .

To see the situation on the ground, “Blic” reporters visited the Infectious Diseases Clinic and the “Torlak” Institute, however, unlike the images seen this summer, a greater number of people were not noticed in these two places in the previous days. And all this in Belgrade, where half of all infected people in Serbia are registered.

So, according to official data from the Ministry of Health and the “Trampolín” Institute, in the last decade of October, we have a record number of newly infected, but a fairly small number of those in the hospital, especially in state severe with respirators.

As epidemiologist Dr. Branislav Tiodorović explained to “Blic”, “whatever the numbers, these are young people from 20 to 40, but also up to 60, who do not require hospital treatment, but require the utmost precaution so that the virus don’t spread. spread. “

– This is how the wave begins, with those young people who don’t feel bad, they won’t even get tested, and that’s how they discover that they are infected. Well, surely we have more of those who do not go to the doctor, they think they will go away on their feet, and there are also those with an asymptomatic picture. We still don’t have a lot of pressure in the hospitals, which is good on the one hand because we have time to prepare – explained Dr. Tiodorović.
