WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR THE GUEST WORKERS? To enter Serbia, maybe TWO TESTS, special rules for vaccinated people

All those who intend to come to Serbia during the Catholic Easter, which is celebrated on April 4, must be prepared for certain measures to enter the country when entering the country. During these holidays, a large number of our people living and working abroad are expected to come to Serbia.

The truth for now is that everyone who comes will have to undergo a PCR test, the test must also be done at the border, and what exactly measures will be valid when entering our country and if those who are vaccinated, we will know the week that comes. after crisis staff consider the plan in detail.

The Christmas season is approaching at the beginning of April, when the Catholic Easter is celebrated, and the arrival of our people who work in the countries of Western Europe is also expected. During the holidays, a large number of citizens visit their homeland, which during the epidemic that still continues, represents a kind of risk, which we also experienced last year. What exactly will apply to those who come will be known next week.

Epidemiologist and crisis staff member prof. Dr. Branislav Tiodorović told “Blic” that the Christmas season is approaching and that most likely a large number of our people from Germany, Austria and Switzerland will come to Serbia.

– We have proposed, and we will discuss it in the next session, that everyone who comes to our country, in addition to the negative PCR test they already have, have another border test, with rapid tests, and that is easy. So, we will only talk about that, because Catholic Easter is on April 4, and shortly before that, many will go to Serbia to take advantage of their holidays. The worrying thing is that many use it as a freedom to relax in their homeland, instead of behaving as they do in Germany, Austria, Switzerland … They will surely be tested at the border, but it is necessary to behave responsibly – explains the Professor Tiodorović.

In the words of Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, PCR testing capacity will be multiplied tenfold in Serbia and a concrete plan will be adopted early next week to test everyone entering our country.

– The intention is to increase capacities, especially at the borders, so that everyone who ascends is tested. We are currently making a plan on how, and as soon as I have specific information, I will inform the public. We will see if it will be at the expense of the state or those people, as well as if it will make a difference between our citizens and foreigners, Prime Minister Brnabić declared.

As for the vaccinated citizens who come from abroad, they will continue talking, because the question is how long has it been since they received the second dose, which would bring back some confirmation.

In addition, what interests us is under what conditions we will celebrate Orthodox Easter on May 2 of this year and if there will be restrictions. However, as experts explain, it is now important to reduce the daily increase in new infections and continue immunization. Let us remind you, last year we had the longest curfew for Easter, which lasted 84 hours, this year it will not be, and it will be known if there will be any measures in the next period.

To return from Serbia, to the countries where they live and work, our citizens will probably need PCR and perhaps quarantine. All those who will come to our country during the holidays, will probably need a PCR test to return, and if they will go to quarantine depends on the country they return to. For example, to return to Germany, the rule was a PCR test and a five-day quarantine, followed by repeat PCR.
