In the last 24 hours, 6,700 citizens were tested for the corona virus, of which 121 were infected. 1 patient died and 20 patients are on ventilators in hospitals across Serbia.
By the way, members of the crisis staff are speaking with journalists today about the epidemiological situation in Serbia.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, 34,193 cases of corona virus infection have been registered. 283 patients were hospitalized.
Belgrade Deputy Mayor Goran Vesić, Dr. Darija Kisić Tepavčević and Dr. Zoran Baščarević are speaking to the press.
Dr. Darija noted that 54 percent of the total number of newlyweds are from Belgrade.
Regarding the epidemiological situation in schools, 80 sick students have been registered since the beginning of the school year, 52 from primary school and 28 from secondary school.
– In recent days, there has been an increase in the number of patients, if we look at the risk of disease at the level of the whole of Europe, we still have the lowest disease rate, that is, 8 per 100,000 citizens. It is up to us to prevent the accelerated spread of the virus – said Dr. Kisić Tepavčević.
Belgrade Deputy Mayor Goran Vesić pointed out that the Serbian capital is currently the largest access point.
– All major cities in Europe are in danger, so it is important to dedicate ourselves in Belgrade to the places where the spread of infection is fastest. We have to dedicate ourselves to public transport and restaurants. We did 125 inspections on public transport, a total of 15 reports were written in the previous two days, and all drivers must wear masks. Where there are cabins, it is not necessary to wear a mask and, unfortunately, not all vehicles have a cabin. Our call is to respect the measures, the mask is the only protection and that is why we will insist that the masks be used indoors – said Vesić.
Vesić adds that we are entering a critical period in which the gardens will not be able to function, but also when the celebrations begin, so he called on citizens to be more responsible.
Crisis personnel held a session today in which they discussed measures to suppress the next third wave of the coronavirus epidemic, which, according to the announcements of epidemiologists, should take place in November.
