We tried to help little Anika Manić

Aleksandar Vučić claims that Foreign Minister Nikola Selaković spoke with his Hungarian colleague, Peter Sijart, about the Anika Manić case.

“And I believe that we will solve the problem of Anika going to the hospital in Hungary, that she will help us. We will provide transportation, by state plane, to take little Anika to Budapest before December 15,” Vucic said.

Vučić stated that the treatment of children with SMS messages is one of the opposition’s arguments against them, although this is the practice in the world, especially when it comes to therapy with unregistered drugs, and stressed that almost all countries Westerners treat these patients with SMS messages.

“I am proud of the fact that we have undertaken a lot in recent years, especially for children with spinal muscular atrophy. Since June 2018, when I welcomed mothers of sick children, we have introduced the drug Spinraza. They are expensive therapies. “540,000 euros, and 270,000 euros a year for the rest of their lives. Today we treat 37 children in this way with state money and those drugs. Those who criticize did not give any drugs,” said the president.

He noted that there are other more complicated diseases and illnesses.

“We seek to take care of all the children, to help as much as possible. You saw that Denmark cannot help easily, because the medicine is not registered. We are also studying how to help the girl Anika Manić,” said Vučić.

He said he did not understand the kind of hypocrisy expressed by those who agitated six times less in the treatment of children, as well as the moral sermons to today’s authorities who seek to fight for every child.

“In many western countries they will not see patients if you do not pay, they charge 20,000 euros a day for a crown bed. Everything is free in our country, and the state must support such a health system,” concluded the president.
