Patriarch Irinej will be buried on Sunday in the crypt of the Temple of St. Sava in Vracar in Belgrade, the Serbian Orthodox Church announced.
Earlier on Saturday, his earthly remains will be exhibited in the Cathedral.
The messenger finds out and presents the protocol planned for both days.
Tomorrow at 8.30, the remains of the earth will be received and taken to the Patriarchal Palace. Members of the Serbian army will bring the coffin, and then transfer it to the Cathedral.
Immediately after the entrance of the coffin, a small memorial service will be held in the Patriarchal Palace.
The Holy Liturgy will be served in the Cathedral Church at 9:00 AM.
It will be attended by Metropolitan Chrysostom of Dabro-Bosnia and the bishops – Jovan de Šumadija and David de Kruševac, then the deputies of the archbishop, the archbishop-staturophores Branko Mitrović, Branko Topalović, Božo Bakajlić and the elder of the Cathedral Radomirčić, as well like the deacons Božo Bakajlić and the elder of the Cathedral Petarčić Radomir.
The transfer of the coffin from the Cathedral to the Temple of San Sava is scheduled for 11.30 am. Members of the Serbian army will line up in front of the temple and inside the Belgrade priests.
A small memorial service will be held at 12:30 pm
The coffin will be covered with a jaw, a small omophorion and a miter.
On Sunday, the day of the funeral, the protocol provides for the Holy Liturgy at 9 a.m. in the Temple of San Sava, Metropolitan Chrysostom and the current archbishops, 12 priests and four deacons.
At the liturgy, Irinej will speak with the Bishop of Bačka.
Opelo starts at 11 pm
After the service, Archpriest Petar Lukić will speak on behalf of the priests of Belgrade, Metropolitan Chrysostom, the then President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and the President of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dokik.
The priests will move the coffin to the crypt of the Temple.
