Mario Lazovic, 42, was arrested in Kraljevo on an international arrest warrant from Interpol on suspicion of being involved in the smuggling of 840 kilograms of cocaine, Blic has learned unofficially.
Lazovic’s extradition was ordered, while he was previously brought before a judge at the Kraljevo High Court. Part of this criminal group was arrested on March 11, while Lazovic and some other members were being searched.
Cocaine from the Caribbean traveled to Europe
The operation against this criminal group began in 2017, and involved the interception of the catamaran “Florida 2” in 2018 in the Portuguese port of Horta. 840 kilograms of cocaine from the Caribbean to Europe were discovered on board. EUROPOL said Montenegro led a complex international investigation and that the operation was part of a broader European strategy against the Balkan cartel.

Todorovic, Ranko Stojovic, Milica Bukilic, Jovan Ercegovic, Milovan Lolo Lakovic and Darko Giljaca were arrested on March 11 in Montenegro and later taken to Spuz pretrial detention, while Radoje Radulovic, Damjan Vukasinovic and Zarin Karkelj remain wanted. .
The group is accused of creating a criminal organization and drug smuggling. In early March 2018, Todorović and Vukašinović, as is reasonably suspected, organized a criminal organization, whose plan was to act internationally, for the purpose of smuggling cocaine from South America to Europe.
After the arrest of part of this group, the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office announced that they bought a kilogram of cocaine for 5,000 to 6,000 euros, and sold it for 30,000 to 40,000 euros.
