Today, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, called on the mayors and presidents of the municipalities of the Republic of Serbia to strengthen control over the observance of preventive measures, as “Blic” has learned.
Brnabic demands that the mayors and presidents of the municipalities take the situation very seriously and use all possible resources so that the level of control of preventive measures in protection against the coronavirus is at the highest possible level.
As we have learned, the Prime Minister requested that the wearing of masks be strictly respected in public transport, as well as that everyone be indoors, especially in stores and shopping centers, and that this applies to both employees and employees. citizens.
The Prime Minister reminded the mayors and presidents of the municipalities that they are obliged to ensure respect for the measures in the territory of their cities and municipalities and that they are obliged to monitor compliance with those measures. Brnabic pointed out that all inspection services must be in the field and verify if all measures, without exception, are fully respected and that natural or legal persons who ignore them must be sanctioned in accordance with the law.
According to our source, the Prime Minister decided to take this step after today’s increase in the number of infected and the fact that almost half of those infected were in Belgrade. It is evident that any relaxation in the form of compliance with the measures is clearly reflected in the figures over several days and that in this sense the key is prevention, that is, strict compliance with all prescribed epidemiological measures. The Prime Minister believes that, although Serbia currently has probably the best numbers in all of Europe, that should not be a reason for relaxation, because the fight against the corona virus is still going on and has never stopped.
The good statistics we have today are solely the result of the iron discipline and personal responsibility of our citizens, and Brnabić does not intend to allow us to spoil that with irresponsible behavior in this period. That is why he demanded that the presidents of the municipalities take responsibility and strictly control the observance of epidemiological measures in their territory, because those measures are the reason why Serbia is successfully fighting against Covid-19.
