“It is in human nature to react differently to different situations, but it is important to reduce the risk of virus transmission, to protect ourselves and protect others,” says immunologist Dr. Srdja Jankovic.

He confirmed that we have a decrease in the number of newly discovered people infected with the corona virus in Serbia, but also pointed out that it is too early to say whether this trend is solid, and so once again he appeals for non-relaxation.

Who returns from abroad, in self-isolation

When it comes to the return of our citizens from abroad, Dr. Janković says that there are currently no conditions for stricter quarantine measures, but that the recommendation is in effect.

– Anyone coming from the area where there is a crown must remain in self-isolation. It is human nature to react differently to different situations, but it is important to reduce the risk of transmitting the virus, to protect ourselves and others – said Dr. Janković as a guest on the morning show “TV Pink”.

He adds that any compliance with the measures means and adds better protection against infection.

As he says, it is not known what is the route of contagion with this virus through water and food, but he explains that when the droplets and transmission are eliminated through the hands, then, he points out, the result is without a doubt for all other transmission routes.

Regarding different treatment in terms of wearing masks for children in kindergartens and schools, Dr. Janković says that the recommendation of relief for children in kindergartens was given by pediatricians, and that the elderly can more easily understand by what is important its use.

“We don’t know what autumn will be like”

Commenting on the construction of new covid hospitals, Dr. Janković says that the capacities must be ready for everyone.

– We do not know what autumn will be like, we hope it does not get worse, but nobody knows. We must implement all preventive measures and we must prepare for the worst scenarios – said Dr. Janković.

As he says, we are preparing for the best possible performance if there is an increase in the number of patients.

Good situation in schools

On the occasion of the beginning of the school year and the current situation in schools, the doctor points out that sporadic cases of childhood diseases appear in schools, adding that if the number increases, there is a clear protocol and instructions on how to proceed.

– Schools are doing well for now. And if the disease occurs at school, the child is tested at the health center, the parent consults a doctor, and if it is confirmed to be a crown, the children who were in contact go under supervision. In case two children are infected in the class, the whole class goes to the classes online, said Dr. Janković.
