The situation in Novi Sad remains very difficult and challenging, and we have reached almost a thousand examinations a day at the Kovid clinic of the Novi Sad Health Center, said Novi Sad Mayor Miloš Vučević.
He, as a guest on TV Pink’s “Dawn”, said that the pressure on the health system is great and that the Health Center is working 24 hours a day, non-stop.
– We have between 300 and 500 new infected people a day, although in the last days we have seen that we do not have a further increase in this number, we register high numbers every day. Obviously, we are now entering the moment when the “match on the field” will be broken. It is important that citizens understand that we are all part of the solution to the problem, and I think that the majority understand it – said Vučević.
The declaration of the state of emergency is, as he said, a red alarm and a clear signal to the residents of Novi Sad that the situation is critical.
– We do not want to carry out punishments, but if someone endangers himself, others and our health system, he will be sanctioned – said the mayor of Novi Sad.
When asked if the Novi Sad Fair will be turned into a covid hospital, Vučević replied that it is not planned at the moment, but that if necessary, it can be done in 24 hours with the help of the Serbian army.
