Veljko Belivuk (36), alias Velja Nevolja, and Pljevljak Darko Saric (50) are neighbors in the custody of the Belgrade Special Prison.
The recently arrested leader of the criminal group stands in one of the well-guarded prison cells on Ustanička Street, where Šarić has been for seven years.
“After the arrest, Belivuk and his 14 associates were transferred to the Ustanička Street Prison, while the other six are in the Central Prison. During the investigation, he is unable to meet with his accomplices, who are in 14 cells. Belivuk he cannot meet with Šarić, who since his voluntary surrender on March 18, 2014, has been in the detention unit of the Special Court in Belgrade, ”the source said, according to the Belgrade media.
“Saric is alone in cell 117, and he is especially walking around the prison circle.”
According to the interlocutor, Saric is now awaiting the decision of the Supreme Court of Cassation, to which his lawyers filed a request for protection of legality, requesting the annulment of the sentence of 15 years in prison, to which he was convicted on charges. of smuggling 5.7 tons of cocaine and deciding for them again.
His lawyers have announced that, as he says, he will appeal to the Belgrade Court of Appeal against the verdict that sentences Saric to nine years in prison on charges that he and his group laundered at least 20 million euros acquired through smuggling of cocaine.
The cells of Belivuk and Saric, like all the others, are covered by cameras.
