BELGRADE – Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić leads the state commemoration ceremony on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance of the suffering of Serbs, Roma and Jews in Jajinci during World War II.
The commemoration began at 11 am in the “Jajinci” Memorial Park, near the Monument to the Victims of the Infamous Execution.
After the wreath laying ceremony, Prime Minister Brnabić and the president of the Association “Jasenovac”, who survived the Ustasha Milinko Čekić camp, will address the meeting. As a survivor of the Jasenovac children’s camp, he emphasized that the Ustasha NDH was the only Nazi state in the world that had a children’s camp, in which first came a voice, then disease and finally death.
Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, who previously placed a wreath at the site of the suffering of innocent victims, then addressed those gathered.
– We bow to our ancestors, it is as hard and shocking as every year – said Brnabić, who emphasized that innocent people died there just because they were darker skinned, had different hair colors, names or surnames …
