The epidemiologist Branislav Tiodorovic said that the medical part of the Crisis Staff was “dissatisfied” with the measures adopted in Friday’s session, because contacts should have been prohibited for three weeks to avoid the transmission of the coronavirus.
“The session was quite energetic and there was a clash of points of view. We are dissatisfied, because we were looking for measures to ensure the reduction of contacts, and the movement ban was never an option, “Tiodorović told Serbian Radio and Television.
Tiodorovic, who is also a member of the Crisis Staff, said the right moment for action was missed.
“But it is difficult to make decisions at the right time,” he added.
The epidemiologist emphasized that the main reason for the worsening of the epidemiological situation is the supervision and control of the measures, because this also affects the appearance of new hotspots in Serbia.
“It is important to monitor the existing measures. It is also important how much the local community implements the measures, where they are respected, there are fewer infected people,” said Tiodorović.
Commenting on the British strain of coronavirus, he said that up to 30% of the total number of positives is present.
According to him, the health system and the citizens of Serbia are “on the verge of force”, because the epidemic has been going on for too long, but it is necessary for everyone to adhere to the measures to stop the epidemic. .
