His eye was closed. The head is bloody. Your personal description has completely changed. Blood and things were scattered everywhere, and in one corner was a sheet soaked in my son’s blood.
This is how Slobodan Stoiljković, the father of Sladjan Stoiljković (42) from the village of Prilepac in Vlasotince, describes the moment when he found his son beaten to death. No one lives in Sladjan’s uncle’s house, where the real drama took place, but he visited her frequently and sometimes slept there. It was also a tragic night, after he went to the store to buy cigarettes.
– We spoke around 11 at night and he told me that he would stay to sleep there. In the morning my neighbors told me that the light was still on so I went there right away. When I walked in, it was still showing signs of life. Doctors tried to help him, but he soon passed away; Slobodan tells us and adds that a tragic outcome could have been avoided if someone had found his son earlier, because he had lost a lot of blood in the meantime. – It is as if someone, with that sheet, tried to remove those traces. I can’t tell you what happened, I just know that our son is gone.
Due to suspicion that he committed this crime, Sladjan’s neighbor, SS (38), was arrested. Locals say the two drank beer in front of the village store and then parted ways. Nobody knows what happened next, but in the village they believe that the suspect, during the night, came to the house where Sladjan slept and attacked him there. No one can even guess the reason for the brutal beating.
Today, the police carried out an investigation into the house where Sladjan died as a result of a brutal beating. His body was sent for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
THE SUSPECT IS PROVIDED TO VIOLENCE
Sladjan’s mother, Snezana, did not have the strength to speak to reporters. He only said briefly that his son had been beaten beyond recognition. Relatives, neighbors and friends, who came to express their condolences, found no words of comfort.
At Prilepac, everyone sincerely mourns the unfortunate Sladjan. The locals speak of him and his family only the best. They describe him as sincere and kind, though they don’t have nice words about the suspect in his murder. They say he is a man who, when he drinks, is prone to violence.
