Around noon, opposition MPs Miladin Sevarlic and then Dveri leader Bosko Obradovic announced that they would start a hunger strike, each for their own reasons. However, the list of strikers did not end there, because they were joined by two SNS MPs, Aleksandar Martinović and Sandra Božić.

So this week, during which MPs are changing electoral laws, they are actually on hunger strikes by both the government and the opposition. Now the four deputies are sitting in front of parliament.

The first of them to enter this type of protest was Sevarlic, in front of the Serbian Assembly and dressed in national costume, and cited the impossibility of having a debate on Kosovo in the Serbian Assembly as the reason. He also said that the “Serbian parliament” is a disgrace that serves “to implement the ruling party’s unanimity,” adding that the SNS is “irresponsible at the national level.”

Very soon, Obradović announced that he would be joining Ševarlić, who stated on his Twitter account that he believed he would not be the only one.

– Not only for the preservation of Kosovo and Metohija as part of Serbia, but in the first place for that. And then, due to the violation of the Constitution, the destruction of democracy and the postponement of elections, Obradović wrote.

While all this was going on, a debate lasted in the Serbian Assembly, during which it was announced that the deputies from the ranks of the SNS, Martinović and Božić, were also on a hunger strike.

What happened was also confirmed by the President of the Serbian Assembly, Maja Gojković, who said she spoke to Martinović on this issue.

– He told me to continue with the session, because it is not an attack against the Serbian Assembly – Gojković said.

Martinović explained that he and his colleague decided to take this step with the aim of “reacting to the fascist outbursts of Boško Obradović by the prosecution and the judiciary”, and to prosecute those who “physically attacked Deputy Marijan Rističević and inflicted wounds”, Tanjug reports

– The prosecution must react when you throw Deputy Marijan Risticevic to the ground, shoot him in the head, inflict serious bodily injury, and then say that Risticevic had a knife, and you know he did not have a knife but the car keys “- he said is Martinovic added that “most of the prosecutors and judges in Serbia were chosen by people like Dragan Djilas, who controls them.”

He said he was speaking on behalf of all the citizens who want Serbia to be a normal and decent country in which people do not fight on the street, in which political opponents and dissidents do not fight, but are spoken to in the parliament.

As he said, the prosecution will have to do its job starting today and bring the perpetrators and fascists to justice.

Bozic said that what she and Martinovic were doing was protesting and calling attention to everything that was happening in the previous days, and especially the attack against the deputy Marijn Risticevic.

– I think that every normal citizen of Serbia should point out everything that is happening and the appearance of fascism in its full form, and when it is practiced by my colleague Boško Obradović – Božić said.

On the other hand, the session continued in the Serbian Assembly, where there was also talk of a hunger strike.

Djukanovic: “This is manipulation”

SNS MP Vladimir Djukanovic said Sevarlic’s hunger strike was a manipulation, and because of the statement by the Serbian president about “acquiring the sovereignty of Kosovo throughout its territory,” which Sevarlic launched, said the statement was a year ago, not yesterday. , he says, taken out of context.

– The debatable statement, and was taken out of context, was not given yesterday, someone fraudulently put it on May 9, 2020. What is it about? What kind of rudeness is this? Someone is manipulating in a shameless way – said Djukanovic, who added that he shows “what the opposition is for and then acts like a circus.”

As he says, then Dveri’s leader, Boško Obradović, joined him, according to “he saw a frog kicking a horse,” since he has nowhere else to find support.

– This is the worst manipulation. They tried to trick people. This is how the electoral campaign is carried out – said Djukanovic.
