They landed in the Morača canyon in a “sprinter” van, and although they managed to call for help, it took rescuers several hours to locate them, reach the wounded and remove them from the canyon, which claimed hundreds of lives. After the search began around midnight between Monday and Tuesday, the action ended around seven in the morning and the two wounded, as it is unofficially known, are not in danger of death.

– It was midnight when we received a report that the vehicle had landed in the canyon. They told us there were two people in it. We immediately rushed to the crash site and eight rescuers and police from the Kolasin Safety Department began the search. It turned out that the original information, that there was a landing from the Krivi vir bridge on the road to Đuđevina, was incorrect, says Željko Darmanović, commander of the Protection and Rescue Service in Kolašin.

According to him, the Operational Communication Center of the Directorate of Emergency Situations of the Montenegrin Ministry of the Interior was also included in the search, so the people found in the canyon were contacted for unknown reasons.

– They tried to give milestones, but at night, in the field they do not know, they did not succeed. We decided to look for landing trails along the road. We saw them near the Subadanj place, a well-known curve, where many drivers had problems … We quickly got in touch with the people who landed, for whose extraction we needed alpine equipment – explained Darmanović.
