In addition to the member of the Government, luminous and sound signs were confiscated from secretaries of state, certain officials, but also from people who have nothing to do with public institutions, and abused them every day on the roads throughout Serbia.
Lately there has been a public debate on the case of Minister Obradović, who was detained by the police with a light signal that she was not allowed to use, for which she allegedly complained. After this, but also in more cases of blinders facilitating movement around the city, Minister Vulin decided to ban them for all who are not entitled to them.
And, according to the Road Safety Law, it is prescribed that the vehicles of the police, the Security Information Agency, the Serbian Army, when accompanied by the vehicles to which they were assigned, give special light and sound signals .
The provision of the same law prescribes that vehicles with right of way are police cars, BIA, VBA, ambulance, firefighters, when they give light or sound signals.
– Vehicles with right of way are also those that transport persons deprived of liberty. Light and sound devices cannot be installed and used only in vehicles intended for escort, that is, in vehicles with right of way, as established by law.
By the way, in the previous period, there were many cases of use of blinders. Its price on a site for the sale of used cars is 15 euros. The law stipulates that a legal person whose vehicles have blinders will be fined from 60,000 to 800,000 dinars and a businessman from 30,000 to 200,000 dinars for the same offense. A vehicle owner with outlaw blinders can go to prison for up to 30 days or pay 20,000 to 40,000 dinars.
