Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin stated that two expert commissions on the ground are working to clarify the circumstances in which two members of the Serbian army were killed in a military plane crash not far from Mali Zvornik.

Vulin told RTS that he “cannot rush them” and that he could not say when the results of the investigation will be known, but that the members of the commissions “will do the best they can” and that they will first present the conclusions to the competent prosecutor’s office. and when they will be released to the public.

The Defense Minister stated that the plane did not have a black box, as well as that it was a regular flight task that is carried out every day.

“A terrible tragedy has hit both the Serbian army and our people. Tragedies when they happen always hurt terribly,” Vulin said, adding that every time someone takes off, they know there is a risk.

According to him, no military plane can take off “without five signatures,” and that is the signature of four mechanics and others who control the plane, and the fifth is the signature of the pilot himself.

A Serbian army MiG-21 fighter plane crashed this morning at 9:10 am in the Brasina village area near Mali Zvornik, killing both pilots, Major Dejan Krsnik and Captain 1st Class Zvonko Vasiljevic , and wounding a local in whose yard the plane fell.
