In the building of the former glass factory in Pancevo, where the fire broke out, there were no dangerous substances and artificial fertilizers based on ammonium nitrate with a high nitrogen content, said Minister of Environmental Protection Irena Vujović, reports Nova.rs .
“Environmental inspectors during a recent inspection at the glass factory determined that there is no ammonium nitrate-based fertilizer with a high nitrogen content, and therefore citizens need not worry. The safety of the citizens is our first priority, and we will continue to monitor that place, and whether there are these dangerous substances in the artificial fertilizer, “Minister Vujović said, according to Nova.rs.
As announced from the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Vujović added that the competent inspectors pointed out that the auxiliary warehouse, which is located at a considerable distance from other warehouses where other types of plant nutrition products are stored, was set on fire today.
The fire broke out at 5:30 pm and the cause is unknown.
The old glassware was bought by the Novi Sad company “Promist”, the ad adds.
