The president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, declared during the tour of the final construction works of the facilities of the Belgrade Gallery, within the project “Belgrade on water”, that this part of the city was one of the ugliest from the capital and now it is becoming one of the most beautiful in Europe. , better than in Oslo and Vienna.

Vučić said that the construction of the Tower, which will have 42 floors, will be completed before the deadline, in November next year.

“This is the largest construction site not only in Serbia but also in Southeastern Europe, where 2,850 workers are employed, 200 of whom are foreigners,” Vucic said.

Serbia’s president says Belgrade over water is not completely private property and that 32 percent of public areas are within that project, which will be worth “10,000 times more than seven years ago” after the construction of the settlement. Vučić said that when asked how much it costs the citizens of Serbia and Belgrade to build a private settlement in Belgrade on water.

Vučić also announced the renovation of the “Bristol” hotel and stated that in that part of the city the value of one square meter used to be “800 to 1,000 euros”, and that today it is “3,000-4,000 and up to 10,000”.

“32 percent of the area here is public. As far as the settlements are concerned, their value is 10,000 times higher than the value of seven years ago, the value of the state and the city of Belgrade is 10,000 times higher,” Vucic said. , but did not indicate how many states and cities Belgrade, invested money in the construction of that settlement.

When asked how many buildings were removed to build the Belgrade settlement on water and what happened to the illegal demolition case in the Savamala settlement during the 2016 election night, Vučić said that due to the Belgrade construction on water, “both legal and illegal buildings” were removed. , whereby the owners of the legal facilities received generous compensation.

When asked about responsibility for the demolition of the buildings in Savamala, Vučić stated that “the competent authorities have already established it.”

Vučić recalled that due to the construction of Belgrade on the water, the problem of the 573 buildings and ditches in that place had to be solved, so that the people who lived there would have a place to live.

He pointed out that, with water treatment plants, the Sava will be “supplied” in five years and that it will be 10 times more beautiful than today.

Vučić also said that he “watches” political opponents walking along the Belgrade waterfront and enjoys it, adding that he was happy about it.

As he said, support for the Belgrade Water project was once 29 percent, and now it’s 67 percent, “and it will only grow.”

The investor in the “Belgrade on Water” project is the United Arab Emirates company Eagle Hills, whose first man Muhamed Alabar said during a site tour that Serbia is a “worth visiting” place because it offers a good business environment.

“Belgrade is a developing city and this project offers a new experience,” said Alabar.

“Gallery Belgrade” will be the largest shopping center in the region, it will have an area of ​​300,000 square meters, of which 93,000 square meters are space for rent and 3,600 parking spaces. The construction of the shopping center takes about three and a half years, on a six-hectare plot. It will have three large spaces for family entertainment, 500 bars, cinemas, and a space arranged on the roof is planned, where it will be possible to organize presentations and events.

The contract for the realization of the project “Belgrade on water” on the right bank of the Sava in the center of Belgrade, worth about 3,500 million euros, was signed in April 2015 by representatives of the Government of Serbia and the company Eagle Hills. The agreement provides for joint investments in a site of about 177 hectares, where there will be several residential buildings and hotels, a shopping center and the 168-meter high “Belgrade” Tower.
