Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said today that two former municipal presidents of the Serbian Progressive Party were arrested this morning, but did not specify who they were.
Photo: Beta / Miloš Miškov“Let the competent prosecutor’s office and the police do their job. It should not matter who is from which party, but rather that people know that those they choose are there to work for their good,” Vucic said.
He said that he was convinced that there would be results in the fight against organized crime, because it is known that mafia structures would not be what they are if they did not have the “lateral support” of representatives of certain state agencies.
“It is time to find out and see it. I heard that we control some gangster groups, and now they will see how many and what results we will have when discovering those groups. That fight is not easy, but it must be done quickly and efficiently,” said Vucic.
The president said that those who think they should take us “to the time of the Zemun clan” and “two thousand years ago, when there were three murders a day” were deceived.
