Tonight, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić expressed his condolences to the family of the late composer and founder of the “Balkanika” group, Aleksandar Sanja Ilić.
“It is with great sadness that I received the news of the death of Sanja Ilić, one of the greatest artists of our region,” declared the President of Serbia in a telegram of condolences.
As stated in the announcement of the Service for Cooperation with the Media of the President of the Republic, Vučić noted that Ilić’s music “erased all borders and brought people closer to the single thread of the eternal harmony of Serbia and of all the Balkans. “
“Sanja impressively and with her heart transferred to other cultures some of the most beautiful works of our music, which in the most creative way represented the artistic wealth of this part of the world,” emphasized the President of Serbia.
“I express my deepest condolences to his family, friends and many admirers of his musical work. Rest in peace, dear friend,” reads President Vučić’s telegram of condolences.
