After the Interior Ministry’s anti-terrorism tactical demonstration exercise, which he described as “very good”, Vučić said that the patriarch was intubated and that the director of the Serbian Clinical Center, Goran Stevanović, “was still in the red zone.”

He stated that the patriarch was in better health this afternoon when the news appeared in the media that the patriarch had passed away, adding that his condition had worsened in recent hours.

“It’s hard to predict anything, we can only pray to God for his health,” Vucic said.

The Serbian Orthodox Church announced today at 2 pm that Patriarch Irinej’s condition is complex, but stable, although many media reported today that he passed away.

The president congratulated the policemen for the demonstration exercise.

“I congratulate the members of the police for the exercise that lasted in real time,” said Vučić.

He added that “all the boys did a fantastic job” and that they are “the guarantor of the safety of the citizens of Serbia.”

“In the coming days and weeks, we expect great results from them,” Vucic said.
