Vučić said he briefed ministers and directors on the government’s plans, future projects and cooperation with the European Union. He emphasized that works on Serbian roads are ongoing, as well as that he expects the release of gas by the end of the year.

“I also informed them about the conversations I had with the representatives of the EU, China, the Russian Federation, the United States, about various projects,” Vucic said.

Vučić says there are numerous problems in the realization of large infrastructure projects, but hopes they will be solved. He indicated that the intention is to find the best solution for economic growth and a better life for citizens through the activities of the President and the Government. Vučić was opposed to budget and project planning in previous decades, because expenses were underestimated and income was overestimated.

“I am not satisfied with how it is planned now, although we are more realistic in estimating income and expenses, as well as in planning projects, especially those with international participation, because now the situation in the world is such that if we cooperate with some, it is perceived against others, “Vucic said.

“We will try to repay the entire debt with Azerbaijan of 170 million euros before the end of the year, and thus reduce the level of public debt by 0.4 percent,” Vucic said.

He added that the loan with Azerbaijan for the Cacak – Ljig highway was agreed in 2012 with an interest rate of four percent, which was favorable then, but that today Serbia’s credit rating is much better.

Vučić stated that during the covid crisis, the level of public debt in Serbia increased by 5.7 percent.

He stated that there are problems in the construction of the Stara Pazova-Novi Sad high-speed railway, in the displacement of Roma families on the Belgrade bypass, in the expropriation of land in the territory of Cacak, in Corridor 10. He said that they are building four roads in Serbia. construction of a power plant in Kostolac, to be completed in the second half of 2022.

Construction of the Balkan Stream gas pipeline through Serbia will be completed by the end of this year, and next year a secondary network should be built to some cities in Serbia, such as Vranje, Vucic said.

He added that they are also working on preparing the construction of aqueduct and sewerage networks in more than 90 municipalities.

“We are still considering further steps in the restructuring of Petohemija, Simpo, Yumko, Lasta, Trajal, how to generate as much revenue as possible,” Vucic said, adding that “great benefits” are expected from the “Jadar” project.
