The president of Serbia and the largest ruling party of the SNS, Aleksandar Vučić, announced tonight that their nomination for the designated prime minister for the composition of the new government of Serbia is Ana Brnabić.
He made the decision on this proposal after consulting all the parties that participated in the elections, he said, within the constitutional deadline. According to him, there were several candidates, but some said that at this time they were not up to the job.
“Ana Brnabić fought fiercely for her country in the previous term, she did not flatter either the foreign centers of power or these domestic ones,” the president explained, adding that he thought she would do her job with seriousness and responsibility.
Vučić added that two more ministries should be added: those of human rights, gender equality and social dialogue, and the care of the family, children and demographics.
“My second wish is that close to 50 percent of the ministers are women, and that would be revolutionary,” he said, emphasizing that great changes are expected in public companies.
He noted that he was very optimistic and convinced that Serbia would be among the countries that would grow the fastest economically, and called on all MPs to support the election of Brnabic.
In today’s session of the SNS Presidency, he said, there was no talk of coalition partners, but he expects big changes in the government.
As he stated, the new government will have the goal in the next four years to raise the economic strength of Serbia, that is, the standard of living, the construction of roads and railways, and work on new projects.
“One of those projects is the construction of the subway,” emphasized the president.
Vučić added, because of Armenia and Azerbaijan, that he does not want a frozen conflict, but a compromise with Kosovo, but that Serbia must not accept humiliation.
When asked by journalists, he replied that he did not choose October 5 because of the symbols, but because some could not come to the session of the SNS Presidency yesterday.
“I do not think about the past and I have no relation to October 5. I dislike looking at the photos of the burned assembly.” The only positive thing is to return Serbia to the world, and I blame everything on the fact that the politicians who arrived to power they have become some of the richest people in the region, “Vucic said.
According to him, Bakic and Prelevic are trying to do something by force.
“I have always opposed them. They forcibly impeded freedoms. We only asked to walk to RTS once, and then they killed Ranko Panić,” recalled the leader of the progressives.
He reiterated that Ana Brnabić is loyal to her country and protects its interests, and that thanks to her, the export of the IT sector has grown enormously.
“We have a stable tax system and today Serbia is one of the five most successful countries in stopping the crown, I would say among the three, but officially among the five.” We have learned that we do not always have to be the worst that we have been during others. The average salary today is 511 euros, and I think it will continue to grow despite the crown, “explained Vučić, adding that salaries for 2025 should be 900 euros and pensions 410 euros.
In today’s session, the presidency of the Serbian Progressive Party unanimously supported SNS president Aleksandar Vučić’s proposal for the president for the composition of the new government, said SNS member of the presidency Siniša Mali.
“In the next seven days, no later than next Monday, we will have another session of the presidency in which we will discuss concrete personnel solutions for the ministers as well as the coalition partners,” Mali announced.
Military exercise on Saturday, October 10
President Vučić announced the largest military exercise in Serbia so far on Saturday 10 October. “You will be able to see everything we have to shoot, see the entire force of the Serbian air force,” he emphasized, but added that it all depends on the weather conditions, because “they don’t want to take risks if the weather is bad.”
At the beginning of July, the Electoral Commission of the Republic (REC) announced that the electoral list “Aleksandar Vucic – For our children” obtained 1,953,998 votes, that is, 60.65 percent of all the voters who attended the ballot boxes, that is, 188 seats.
The electoral list “Ivica Dacic – Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), United Serbia (JS) – Dragan Markovic Palma” obtained 334,333 votes, 10.38 percent of the votes, or 32 parliamentary seats.
The “Aleksandar Šapić-Victory for Serbia” list obtained 123,393 votes, 3.83 percent of the votes or 11 seats.
In addition to these lists, four minority parties entered the National Assembly: “Hungarian Vojvodina Alliance-Istvan Pastor”, “Academician Muamer Zukorlic-Samo pravo-Justice and Reconciliation Party (SPP)-Democratic Party of Macedonia (DPM)”, “Albanian Democratic Alternative-United Valley” and “SDA Sandzak-Dr. Sulejman Ugljanin”.
All other electoral lists did not pass the census.
