At the end of last year, the Serbian Progressive Party founded the Foundation “For the Serbian People and State”, whose tasks are to fight for Serbia to remain a decent, civilized and just society, as well as to improve the political culture in Serbia.

The Foundation’s website states that the creator of the vision, idea and initiative for the establishment of the Foundation “For the People and State of Serbia” is President Aleksandar Vučić, and that his name is a symbol of the renewal and the rise of Serbia.
Based on information from the website of the Commercial Records Agency (APR), the Foundation was established on October 1 last year, with its headquarters at the SNS headquarters, at Palmira Toljati 5/3 in New Belgrade.
The Serbian Progressive Party is listed as the founder and the director of the Foundation is Bojana Radaković, a member of the SNS Board of Directors.
According to information on the “Istinomer” website, Radaković was born in 1987 in Belgrade. Although there are no official data on her training, the media affirmed that she is a “lawyer with an average of 8.85 in the Faculty of Law, and that she is currently in doctoral studies.”
In January 2014, she was appointed to the post of Undersecretary of the Municipal Assembly of Voždovac, and later became the Head of the Board of CSO Voždovac. According to the complaints from the aforementioned site, Radaković is the undersecretary of the Secretariat for Planning and Construction Affairs of the City of Belgrade Administration.
According to data from the APR website, the chairman of the Foundation’s board of directors is Dejan Mihajlov, a former member of the Democratic Party of Serbia, who was Secretary General of the Government of Serbia from 2004 to July 2008. Another former member of DSS he won the seat on the Board of Directors and the current SNS member in the Belgrade Assembly, Nebojsa Bakarec.
The members of the Board of the Progressives Foundation are also the former president of the Electoral Commission of the Republic Dejan Đurđević, the media consultant Ivan Radovanović, the former SPS official Uroš Šuvaković, as well as Ljiljana Marković, who recently resigned from the position of interim dean of the Faculty of Philology. The professional ethics of the University of Belgrade issued a public reprimand measure.
We tried to find out more about the specific activities of the Foundation with SNS member Nebojsa Bakarec, but he told us that he did not want to speak on behalf of Danas, because it was presented in a negative context in a text three years ago.
The former official of the Socialist Party of Serbia, Uros Shuvakovic, agreed to speak for our newspaper, and when asked what the specific activities of the Foundation are, he replied that he publishes a magazine that deals with political theory and political culture, in addition to developing a culture of political dialogue.
When asked if he believes that the Serbian Progressive Party, as the founder of the Foundation, in practice upholds the values promoted by the Foundation, that is, the culture of dialogue and Serbia as a civilized and decent society, Suvakovic replied that it deals with the Foundation, but who can the party individually to comment how much it contributes to the mentioned values.
– But, in that case, you would have to interview me and give me at least one page of text to give you concrete examples – Shuvakovic said.
The media consultant Ivan Radovanović, when asked by our newspaper if the Foundation participates in other activities besides publishing the magazine, replied that he did not know, because he did not participate particularly in its work because of his work, and that he was simply not informed.
– I didn’t have time to deal with it. I think you have their site, so watch what they do. I don’t know, because I haven’t done it in the last six months. I had another job – said Radovanović.
On the Foundation’s website, in addition to publishing and working with young people, it is stated that it deals with both international cooperation and scientific research.
– The Foundation “For the Serbian People and State” was founded by the Serbian Progressive Party in October 2019. In the work of our Foundation, the people and the state will be observed in the light of science and the latest discoveries. Nation and democracy are two concepts that complement each other harmoniously. Serbia needs both a nation and a democracy. Serbia also needs meritocracy, a system based on the government of the most capable, the most talented and the most intelligent – it is written on the Foundation’s website.
The web presentation further says that, together with its founder, he will fight for Serbia to remain a decent and civilized society, explaining that a decent society is one whose institutions do not humiliate people, and a civilized one is one whose members will not humiliate each other. .
– Every decent and civilized society is also a just society. We will represent our own beliefs in an assertive manner, with full respect for others. The Foundation “For the People and State of Serbia” will pay special attention to improving the political culture in Serbia, promoting Serbian tradition and cultural heritage, educating young people, encouraging them to study the world in which they live and create. your own, developing a wide range of skills. promotion and protection of family values, scientific research and publishing activities – indicated on the site in the section “About the Foundation”.
A much better known effort of the Foundation than publication is the establishment of the Young Leaders Academy, which has produced several new young SNS deputies in the current parliament.
The Foundation’s website explains that the Young Leaders Academy involves the political education of young members of the SNS, thanks to which they will acquire new knowledge and skills from various fields, which will mean not only for politics, but they will be able to use in any profession. word.
– The aim of the conference is to educate young members, first of all when it comes to public speaking, debating. The topics are from various fields, creating political messages, strategic and action planning, politics in the period from 1990 to the present, European Union, local self-government, etc. He also teaches about electoral campaigns, negotiations, economics, where research from various fields is presented; it is written on the internet presentation.
