At the session of the Electronic Media Regulatory Body on Tuesday, it was concluded that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić did not disturb the public by recently broadcasting photos of severed heads on more than ten domestic televisions, including those on national frequency. Said the president of the REM Council to Nova.rs. Olivera Zekić. In addition, there was no talk of drafting a regulation that would restrict the broadcast of reality shows from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., nor will it, he says.
“There is no start of proceedings when severed heads are broadcast, because we made a decision by majority vote that there was no harassment from the public. It was in the public interest, unlike Ms. Judita Popovic, who claimed otherwise and was the only one who expressed that kind of opinion, “Zekic told Nova.rs, referring to a request submitted by Judita Popovic, a member of REM. to the broadcast of the severed heads of the victims of the Veljko Belivuk mafia gang on more than ten televisions during prime time by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.
In the aforementioned session, there was no discussion about the drafting of a regulation on the limitation of the transmission of reality shows in the period from 11 pm to 6 am, and according to Olivera Zekić, it will not happen in the foreseeable future.
“The reality rule book was not on the agenda at all, nor will it be, for the simple reason that that story was ended last year, and there is no draft reality rule book. I wasn’t in REM when the story about that rule book began, but that decision has now been put into practice. I do not think that we will raise this issue in the foreseeable future. So it was decided, ”Zekić said in an interview for Nova.rs.
When asked what he will do about the threat of convicted criminal Kristijan Golubović, which he made on television with a national frequency, Zekić said:
As for Kristijan Golubović, the course of the procedure is such that it will be decided after the service report and Pink’s statement. In the next session, we will make a decision on whether and what measure to impose. “
Similar is the case of the Prijedor detainees, who filed a complaint against REM against Happy TV after they were insulted by the presenter Milomir Marić and Predrag Antonijević, the director of the film “Dara iz Jasenovac”, on the program “Good morning Serbia “. Incorrect claims that the fields were undefined.
“The procedure started after the report of the Prijedor detainees, so, as in the case of Golubović, after the Happy Television statement, we will decide whether and what measures we will take,” says Zekić.
