Therefore, as Dr. Sladjan Stanković, from the Vranje Institute of Public Health told us, all users and employees of this institution were evaluated; It turned out that nine employees and 16 tenants fell ill.

A protégé from Trgovište, a cook and an expert associate, also fell ill at the Center for the provision of local social protection services in Vranje. According to Sasa Ristovic, secretary of the Association of Private Institutions for the Elderly, the current situation in homes is serious, but stable.

– A virus appeared in 20 buildings, but only four or five homes have a higher number of people infected with weaker symptoms, only a few tenants have the strongest – says our interlocutor. – Other institutions have one or two infected workers each. The reaction was timely, so the virus did not enter the rooms and infect users.

Ristović emphasizes that there is a justified fear that the virus will spread to homes. Based on this, it was recommended, by the Ministry of Labor, to households, to organize shift work of 14 days:

– Many are considering their possibilities, and some have started with this way of working. The “Topalović” home in Kladovo has a problem with the supply of oxygen, which it did not receive from the competent hospital, and the infected users were not admitted to the hospital, but were left in the institution for treatment.

According to “Novosti”, there are infected people in the state home for the elderly in Obrenovac: about twenty tenants and three workers.

To date, there have been 248 infected beneficiaries and 165 employees in all social welfare institutions and homes for adults and the elderly.
