Today, on behalf of the city of Belgrade, the Deputy Mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesić, thanked all the citizens of Belgrade and the owners of catering services and other facilities for respecting all measures of the Government of Serbia.
“I know it was not easy to celebrate New Year’s Eve in a way we are not used to, but in many other cities in Europe it was a curfew. In Belgrade, people lived freely and worked until 6pm, catering facilities and retail stores until 8pm, “emphasized Vesić.
He pointed out that during the previous night, 59 members of the Communal Militia, Municipal and Municipal Inspection participated, as well as representatives of the Sanitary and Market Inspection of the Republic.
“1,496 inspections were made and around 0.3 percent of them were in violation, which is really a very good result that shows that the catering companies also acted very responsibly according to the government’s decisions.” A raft hotel operating at 3 am was closed, 43 people were found in the Krnjača building and a fine was imposed for exceeding the working hours of the Strahinjića bana restaurant and two betting houses. “Our inspectors were tolerant and I think we all showed together how we can respect the measures,” he said.
With such a responsible behavior, he added, “we have contributed so that there is not an increase in the number of infected and that we all wait for the vaccination to finish and we will duly receive the next New Year.”
“We have shown that we are responsible, in Belgrade today the catering facilities will run until 6pm, the retail stores until 8pm, unlike in Paris, London, Paris or Vienna. We have shown that we can find a measure, that the economy works and that public health is preserved, as well as that we can be disciplined on New Years Eve, for which I am grateful to all my fellow citizens, ”said Goran Vesić.
