The Belgrade metro project, Vesić added, is worth € 4 billion, the first line € 1.8 billion and the second line € 2.2 billion.
– Last week, Finance Minister Siniša Mali and I had a meeting with the ambassadors of France and China, and with them were representatives of the companies “Alstom” and “Power Tea”. An agreement was reached there, which will be verified by the Government of China and the Government of France, as well as by the Government of Serbia. “Alstom” will work on electromechanics, trains, wagons, rails, complete electricity supply, that is, the equipment of the metro itself, while the construction works will be carried out by the Chinese company. The ratio will be 30 to 70. About 70 percent of the value of the work will belong to the Chinese and the rest will be to the French. The French government has provided funding for the work carried out by your company. I have never seen anyone give more favorable conditions than the French for Alstom to do the job. The Chinese government will provide funding together with its “Power Tea” company for the other part of the work, Vesić explained.

According to him, the construction of the reservoir in Makiško polje will begin in December next year, which represents the beginning of the construction of the metro, and then it will be exactly 50 years from the promised metro in Belgrade.
– To start building the metro, it is necessary to adopt a general regulation plan for the railway systems, which will be approved this autumn. That plan explains how we will develop all the railway systems in the territory of Belgrade, both the metro, the Bulgarian train and the trams. At the beginning, we will define the first two metro lines, then the third. The French company “Egis” is currently working on the design of the first two metro lines, which means that we will have a feasibility study with a project for a construction permit, and conceptual solutions are being carried out for the third metro line – Emphasized Vesić.
As you said, the first line starts at Makiš and goes through Železnik, Banovo brdo, descends near Šećerana, continues along Radnička street, then Savska and reaches Savski trg where it intersects with the second line, then goes to Trg republike, Luka Beograd, Adi Huji, Karaburma, and Mirijeva. The second line starts at Zemun train station and also ends at Mirijevo.
Vesić said that new lines of the Bg train will be built and that it is planned to extend the line to Surčin and Obrenovac.
– That means that we will connect the part of the Zemun train station with the national stadium, the airport “Nikola Tesla” and the center of Surčin, and then with Obrenovac. We will connect Surcin and Obrenovac, and last year we connected Barajevo and Lazarevac, in addition to Mladenovac. The Bulgarian train will also go to Pancevo. We are talking about extending that line again. Thus, we will have a Bulgarian train that will be compatible with the metro, and we are also working on expanding the tram network. That will be the development plan for Belgrade. Finally, in the next five years, Belgrade will have its own railway systems and we will become a real metropolis – said Vesić.
During the last three and a half years, we have about 4,000 more cars per month, Vesić said, adding that this is why the metro is important.
– We are already a city big enough not to function without the subway. When we have new trams, then trams that will have a head start, and when we reorganize our lines, we will not have a situation where eight percent of people ride trams. Our trams are completely unused. This city will have solved the traffic in five or six years – said Vesić.
Vesić also stated that an agreement was reached with chief urban planner Marko Stojčić that for each metro station, and there will be 43 of them on the first two lines, an architecture competition will be announced and local architects will be in charge of designing. that station.
