Montenegrin Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić said he was “considering” lifting the ban on entering Montenegro for the likes of Matija Bećković and Vlado Georgiev, he announced on his RTCG website.

During the parliamentary session in July last year, Interior Minister Mevludin Nuhodžić also said that there was no entry ban for Bećković. Tomanović’s law firm recently announced that the Herceg Novi Police Administration prohibited Georgiev from entering Montenegro for a period of 10 years.

When asked if this also applies to the former Serbian ambassador to Montenegro, Krivokapic said that everyone is entitled to an opinion, but if someone is an ambassador, then they should watch their statement.

European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Oliver Varhelji expressed unequivocal support for Montenegro’s economic recovery to improve citizens’ quality of life and accelerate accession to the European Union, Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic said after a meeting in Brussels.

“Our strategic objective is to be the 28th member of the European Union. We will be determined, credible and transparent in implementing reforms, because our vision is the European future of Montenegro for all our citizens,” Krivokapic said on Twitter.

Varhelji said that they discussed Montenegro’s priorities when it comes to EU accession negotiations.

“It is time to move forward, starting with progress in the area of ​​the rule of law. We are ready to help Montenegro make decisive progress towards the EU and with economic recovery after the pandemic,” Varhelji wrote on Twitter.
