Miroslav Savić, a member of the Commission for the Registration of Medicines at the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices, told H1 that they are separating Serbia from the eventual vaccine permit for weeks. However, while Savić affirms that the vaccination program in all countries of the world, including ours, will start during the first quarter of next year, we have heard completely different statements about it from government representatives in the previous period.
Margaret Keenan from Great Britain was already vaccinated last week, and how long will Serbia wait in line? The Medicines Agency is examining the samples received.
“What I can say is certainly a matter of weeks, not months, because the procedures that are performed today globally are certainly tailored to the circumstances, and those are the circumstances of urgent public health solutions. As we can see , the procedure in the United States was specific and such procedures allow obtaining temporary permits for the use of certain vaccines in a shorter period of time, ”says Miroslav Savić from the Medicines Agency.
Vaccination against the corona started in Serbia with the pro-government media in January, with a Serbian vaccine that we can produce ourselves.
“I want the citizens of Serbia to know – Serbia and its experts are ready today, maybe to make that vaccine, we are finally waiting today for everything we need to do it. With that information, I will go to our president, inform him and he still knows What will you do now? ”Health Minister Zlatibor Lončar said in late January.
Here we are, a year later, it is still not known what we need for the Serbian vaccine, but the president informs citizens in November that the Pfizer vaccine has been provided.
“So far, we have provided 1.8 million doses by the end of this year and all of next through the Kovaks system, and right now it looks like it will be the Pfizer-Biontek vaccine,” Vučić said at the time.
We need much larger amounts, the President of Serbia knows, so ten days later, in November, he said how many vaccines could be used for the new year.
“We are literally talking to everyone to see if we can get vaccinated as soon as possible, we will try. Our goal is to do our best, our goal is to try to provide at least one million doses by the end of the year,” Vucic said.
That would mean that in the next two weeks, if President Vučić is to be believed, half a million people could be vaccinated against the crown. However, Prime Minister Ana Brnabić broke all possible hopes after speaking with one of the vaccine manufacturers.
“… who said you could get the vaccine from us in the fourth quarter of next year, by then we had already sold all of our vaccines,” Brnabic said a few days ago.
The Prime Minister explained that she wanted to explain that it is very difficult to enter into negotiations for the vaccine and reiterated that the president must still be trusted.
“As announced and promised by President Aleksandar Vučić, Serbia will be one of the countries to receive coronavirus vaccines today, so we will have that vaccine in December this year,” the prime minister said.
There are about 15 days left until the end of December, however, they have their own calculation on the crisis staff, which shows that by March next year, five times fewer people will be vaccinated than President Vučić claims could be possible in December. .
“We hope that by the end of the year there will be the first, not a large number, and that there will be about 300-350 thousand by March of next year,” said Mirsal Djerlek.
From January and the fact that we can produce the vaccine ourselves, to the fact that it will be in November in December, we can get to 2021, but nothing is known about it yet.
