The non-governmental organization “Association for the Protection of Constitutionality and Legality” (UZUZ) assessed that “students are right when they ask for tuition fees reduced by 30%” in Serbia.

UZUZ claimed this was determined by the “legal expert support” of the “Let’s Protect Students” Initiative within the “Go-Change Team”, which calls for a reduction in tuition fees.

The student association is tomorrow on the plateau of the Belgrade Faculty of Philosophy announced a protest in order to comply with that request.

UZUZ affirms that the faculties “violated the obligations” provided for in the Higher Education Law and the study contracts on “the way to teach classes and the number of classes in the last school year.”

While it is a consequence of the coronavirus epidemic, UZUZ believes that students may request the return of part of the tuition “due to unfounded enrichment of the faculty.”

“If the students are not met, we will have to open the subject of a detailed analysis of the costs of the faculty,” UZUZ warns in a statement.

UZUZ states that “many faculties, instead of online lectures, have ‘uploaded’ presentations and texts in pdf format, which is absolutely unacceptable in the 21st century.”

The association mentions that there are already “massive lawsuits against faculties” in the world for the payment of tuition for interrupted classes, and that “faculties everywhere are losing these disputes in the courts.”
