The United Against Kovid Association (UPK) today called for stricter and more comprehensive restrictive measures that last at least two to four weeks, “to allow the health system to take a break and prevent an imminent collapse.”
The declaration of that organization establishes that the most rigorous measures must include public transport, the work of restoration facilities, meetings in public spaces, but also the celebration of public events, meetings in public areas and the entrance of passengers in Serbia.
Although the UPK welcomes the announced restriction on the operation of restaurant services and shopping centers until 9 pm, it continues to consider these measures to be “insufficient” and doubts the effectiveness of the implementation of the measures as well as the transparency of the comunication.
“Parallel to these new measures, which must be adopted immediately, we demand that the State ensure that the inspection services are fully involved in the identification of legal entities and individuals who arrogantly, violating measures that are already in force, put endangering the population and society as a whole, “he added. in a sentence.
They also estimate that the economy, which would depend on the closure of restaurants, cafes and clubs for two weeks, “can hardly be described as the best in Europe.”
“The health and lives of people depend directly on the timely adoption and strict implementation of measures that the state has the obligation to provide with the highest possible priority, with the participation of all existing and potential human resources.” “Employment and participation in suitable jobs for all unemployed physicians is a measure that is needed by all,” the statement added.
The UPK also appreciates that its thesis that the Crisis Staff is not an expert but a political body has been confirmed, given that its members were not allowed to clearly communicate their conclusions to the public, so their existence is meaningless.
“Once again, we ask the Government of Serbia to return the fight against infectious diseases to the legal framework in terms of devolution of powers to the Commission of Experts of the Republic,” said the UPK.
In today’s session, the Government of Serbia took the decision to limit the work of catering facilities mainly to 9 pm, but also other facilities.
The representative of the Association of Clubs and Bars, Miša Reljić, estimated that the new measures against the spread of the corona virus will reduce the business of these catering facilities to a fifth of capacity.
Deputy Mayor Goran Vesić announced that from tomorrow the control of the use of masks in public transport will be strengthened.
From yesterday to today, 3,482 new cases of coronavirus have been registered in Serbia and 20 people have died.
