Kosovo politicians estimate that Kosovo and Metohija may be the last to receive the antiviral vaccine, despite the fact that many countries in the region have already started vaccinating the population, Kosovo reports online.

Neither the Kosovo authorities nor the Ministry of Health have information on when the vaccines will arrive in Kosovo.

Kosovo Democratic Party deputy Bekim Hadziju told Gazeta Express that he fears that due to government negligence, Kosovo and Metohija will be the last in the European region to receive vaccines.

He added that Health Minister Armend Zemaj did not announce when and how vaccination would begin in Kosovo and Metohija.

“We are lagging behind other countries with the vaccine. The minister did not specify a date. The deputies asked the minister questions about vaccination, but did not give any information about when and how the vaccination will begin. Due to his negligence and vanity government, I’m afraid we could be the last country. ” in the region and Europe in terms of vaccination, “Hadji said.

Alben Reşitaj, a member of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and chairman of the parliamentary health committee, said Minister Zemaj had announced that the vaccine supply would be completed in the first quarter of next year.

“At the last meeting of the Committee, I asked the Minister for information on acquisitions, but he did not give an exact date, he only said that the vaccinations would start in the first quarter of 2021. That is the information we received from him,” Re said. Leer .

Fitim Uka, a member of the Self-Determination Movement Committee, said delivery of the vaccines would be delayed, adding that medical staff would need time to prepare for the vaccine.

“From what we have seen, vaccination in Kosovo starts late. With these overloaded capacities of health personnel, it can be difficult to carry out effective vaccination,” Uka said.

EU foreign policy officials told Gazeta Express that they would help non-EU countries obtain the kovid-19 vaccine.

The EU has said that anyone who needs the vaccine will have access. Following the approval of the covid-19 vaccine by the European Union, many countries have begun to vaccinate their citizens.
