– The situation is the worst in Belgrade, there is the greatest pressure on the kovid system, so every day we open up new capacities to receive patients with kovid, Health Minister Zlatibor Lončar warned today after a meeting with the directors of the kovid hospitals in Serbia.

He recalled that the Zemun hospital for covid patients was opened yesterday.
– Our assessment is that it could serve us in a day or a day and a half. The Pancevo General Hospital will switch to covid systems tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, and we will have nothing else to open as a covid hospital, Minister Lonačar warned.
He again appealed to citizens to refrain from meeting for the next 10 days and avoid contacts.
– Forget about parties, celebrations … Put on masks, wash your hands. It is so difficult? – Lončar asked and pointed:

– We consume oxygen in one day as we consume it under normal circumstances in about a month. A hospital consumes 5 tons of oxygen per day in the kovid system, which is the amount it needs in a month. Now you can transfer and calculate all that for everything else: how much medicine is spent, tests performed, X-rays … “.
Failure to comply with the measures leads directly to the collapse of the system, he emphasized.
He also said that the Institute of Orthopedics “Banjica” will not be in the kovid system.
– Tomorrow it may rain with ice and we have dozens of broken arms and legs, and we will not have a place to care for those patients – he said.
As for what awaits us next, as he said, is that covid-positive patients from Belgrade will be sent to hospitals elsewhere in Serbia.
